sooooo much! Why do people park like that? What say you OPPO?

This sort of ground clearance is why I'm not allowed to install any more fog lights...

If the car were any bit lower, it would need a new bumper straight away.

Whenever I hear the inevitable crunch, something inside me dies a little...

The front bumper of my Taco sits about 2 feet above the curb.

When it happens, this is you (and your car):

I HATE THAT. I hate people that inch forward/backward until they hit (con el putaso se avisa, no?).
I use my car's reflection in the car next to me to determine where the parking block is. if there's no other car it's okay, because I'M NOT AN IDIOT.

He's going to learn the hard way.

Parking like that once won me a brand new radiator, bottom radiator mount, and mechanical fan.

LOOKING AT THIS PICTURE HURTS!

I usually judge by the mirror of the car next to me, I quickly judge it's nose length compared to mine and then line up with their mirror accordingly (also factoring in how well/poorly they've parked).

very true, the chingaso shouldn't be the indicator

Well, I do it because the lot at work is narrow and assholes like to back up as far as they can to be able to "turn and go" without playing the D/R/D/R/D/R game. I like my rear bumper so I pull up further.

I always park back from the curb or back into a spot since i would easily wipe the nose off my camaro

Ha! Yes I have removed those as well. I should just take the whole damn bumper off...

Swear to god that's how my mom parks her (ironically also) CTS (sadly not V). I make fun of her saying she doesn't park it as much as she "docks it".

Even in my truck I don't pull the front wheels to the curb. I just stop when the nose is a couple inches from it. How do you not know where the end of your car is?
I was in a coworker's new Charger and he ran it up on the bumper like he did it all the time, no big deal. It physically jarred the car. And he didn't notice.

There is a guy in the same lofts as me, who literally every time he parks his expedition, taps the wall.
I have never seen air in between his bumper and the wall.

With the various low and/or lowered cars I've had over the years, I've always been careful to not park too close to the curb, or parking blocks. Parking blocks were always infuriating. Hate that scraping.
The opposite is true with my Grand Cherokee I got this winter. Because fuck it, I've got plenty of ground clearance. Just drive the tires right on up to the curb. I park it outside my apartment and when it's snowy, I sometimes can't tell when I've hit the curb. A couple weeks ago I actually drove up onto the sidewalk without realizing it. In that case, I did back up a bit. You know, to not be parked on the sidewalk.

I also have my 135is that I have to be careful parking. But it's small enough that even if I leave like a foot between the car and the curb, the back end is probably even with other normal sized cars.

lucky dude, I need a 135is in my life :]

One good thing about michigan is no front plate …. but that still doesn't forgive him for his crimes against cars.

Driver is an engineer. He has carefully measured the height of all curbs where he might park.

I almost did it when I first started driving my new car. I got out and had a mini heart attack.

I park like that. Because pickup truck. Unless of course it'll be in the way.

The worst part is the scraping sound it makes when they back up. That is why I always back in with my challenger. In a truck though, just pull right in, and if there is no one across from you when you leave just drive right over the concrete wheel stop and on your way!
![]() 02/04/2014 at 22:36 |

when I hear that, for some reason I feel that the bumper is going to just rip off or at least disattach at one end.

Beyond. She got upset about "build quality" when this other smaller piece of plastic that sticks down was kinda just hanging there. After she told it to the service guy I apologized to him and told him her parking style. Said it happens a lot and it's easy enough to just take it right off which they do for a ton of people.
